• What's the difference between a Chip and a Pitch shot?

• The words chip and pitch describe the flight of the ball, not how far the ball travels

• A chip will run more than it flies in the air

• A pitch will fly more than it runs

• You can have a 25yd, chip and a 25yd pitch. It is not about the distance

• You will hear different opinions to this; they are only words. Advanced short game players are not thinking about whether they are hitting a chip or a pitch shot. They are only thinking about what ball flight they need, and where they need to land it.
