Hi, Robin Symes here. We’re gonna learn a drill to help you with your transition, help you with the sequence of your transition, help you with the separation between your upper body and your lower body. They call this the dynamic step drill. I want you to start by placing a ball on a tee peg, a short tee peg. Perhaps do it with a 6, 7, or 8-iron. Your starting point will be your feet together behind the golf ball. Pointing the club down the target line. I want you to swing the club past the ball with speed, but once the club goes past the ball I want you step to the left, creating some pressure into the ground underneath your left foot. This will create separation between your upper body and your lower body. It will be the trigger to start your downswing. So go ahead hit the ball with as much speed as possible. So it should go like this. Say the dynamic step drill, a great drill to help you improve your transition sequence, separation between upper body and lower body, some groin force. It helps with club head speed. It helps maintain your body angles. It helps with [inaudible 00:01:52], anybody scooping the ball. Helps with some compression on the golf ball. Also gonna help shallow at the club if you’re a little bit steep. So a good transition can help many aspects of the golf swing. It’s a key fundamental to an efficient golf swing.
