Drag your right foot to help improve your weight transfer

Hi, Robin here. Quick tip for anybody who feels like they are struggling transferring their weight in the down swing. It feels like maybe they’re spinning their hips, with their right hip coming forward. Just in general really finding it difficult getting their weight to the left side. You’ll be hitting weak shots, slice shots, just really not solid through the impact area. A very weak feeling at impact. Now, it’s very simple. What I want you to do, from the top of your back swing, I want you to have the feeling like you are pushing off your right foot and then dragging your foot towards the target.

You’ve actually seen a lot of good players in the past do this a little bit. Greg Norman is a good example. But I want you to push and drag. And that sense of dragging the foot will ensure that your weight is shifting to the left, and it will stop that feeling where your right hip spinning forward, right knees coming forward, and you’re hanging back on your right foot. It’s very simple.  Push and drag. It’s actually one of my favorites. I myself in my swing struggle a little bit with hanging back. It’s something I have tried myself. It helped my contact. It made my ball flight a little bit lower.  It certainly felt a lot more solid. So, simple tip. Give it a try.
